RFID in gaming chips has been around for many years, however, only PJM through its ability to accurately and quickly read closely stacked tags makes it a viable security solution for casinos around the world.

Magellan provides a range of readers and antennas that can be incorporated into casino systems to track chip movements between the vault and cashiers cage.

PJM RFID technology has the capacity to identify more than 1000 gaming chips on a table in real-time, allowing casinos to extend chip security from the vault or cage to the playing table. Magellan’s range of casino readers and antennas enable gaming chips to be authenticated and read with speeds of more than 500 per second on the table.

In addition, the ability to identify player’s bets at the table, brings player tracking on tables to a new level.

Most recently Magellan has developed a Dual Chip Tray reader module to be fitted to gaming tables. This allows the croupier to keep track of up to 1800 chips at any one time. It independently identifies chips in the upper tray and lower drawer and is fitted with access detection sensors.
