PIMS decodes the item code, lot number and expiry date from the primary and secondary HIBC barcodes.
PIMS intelligently handles HIBC exceptions learning how to deal with exceptions as they occur.
The item code, lot number and expiry date are also written to the tag.
The tags unique serial number is linked to the physical product in the application database.

Loankit bookings are created by simply selecting the procedure, surgeon and hospital details.
Print pick lists, shipping labels and other hospital documentation.
Bookings are automatically emailed daily to selected users, informing them of cases being booked for the month ahead.
PIMS flexible booking system allows you specialise each booking individually - simply select a preference and then add implants or modules onto the chosen preference.
Each item is verified that the expiry date is valid and that the item is required for the booking being dispatched.
A warning is shown to the user if an expired or incorrect item has been scanned. The booking is prevented from progressing in the application until the error is corrected.
A booking can be shipped as incomplete and filled at a later date.
Transfer items between bookings without them having to come back to the warehouse and being resent to the hospital.

PIMS uses a familiar calendar interface to create and manage loankit bookings.
Enter, re-schedule or modify bookings from the calendar view.
PIMS is able to receive items from multiple bookings and different hospitals at the same time. PIMS resolves each item to the original booking it was dispatched on.

Access to PIMS is protected by requiring users to log into the application using a valid user name and password.
Communication between the application server and users computer is encrypted.
